Law Firm Valentine’s Day DEI Employee Challenge to “Take a Minute to Show You Care!”<\/strong><\/strong> for Mental Health Wellness<\/h3>

The law firm\u00a0Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP wanted to create a special Valentine’s Day card campaign for emotional support for its employees.\u00a0 Their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) department found DonnaBellas Angels art online and thought it would be a good match for their project.\u00a0 DonnaBellas Angels allowed third-party royalty use of the art for mental health wellness projects that align with our non-profit’s mission.<\/p>

Employees were mailed cheerful lime green envelopes.  Inside it was a 5″ x 7″ postcard featuring “Hearts and Hands<\/a>” art,<\/p>

“Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP extends an invitation and challenge to all firm members to join our campaign to\u00a0Take a Minute to Show You Care!<\/strong>

During these times of isolation and stress, it only takes a moment to uplift one another. We encourage you to routinely show someone else \u2013 especially your Burke colleagues known and unknown \u2013 that you care! A simple phone or video call, email, chat or text message, small kindness, or thoughtful gesture can help someone feel less alone and make their day a little brighter \u2013 and yours too!

We\u2019ve included a card to help you get started. Burke cares about your well-being. If you are struggling, we encourage you to reach out for support.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

DonnaBellas Angels is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides inspirational art to the public for mental health wellness. Burke will be making a contribution to this organization on behalf of\u00a0our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee.<\/em>“<\/p><\/blockquote>

Included was a 4″ x 6″ postcard with “Community Hearts<\/a>” art with a heart postage stamp so it was ready to go.  <\/p>

Along with the postcards were colorful lollipops and a metal coin “Kindness Token”. <\/p>

The back had the message of “I give you this token for your kindness to me. Now give it away, and you will see how one act of kindness can change the world.”<\/p>

DonnaBellas Angels received the below on how the campaign went:<\/p>

Recognizing the level of stress and sense of isolation our personnel were suffering as a result of working from home for nearly a year due to the coronavirus, Burke, Williams & Sorensen\u2019s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee wanted to help, so decided to launch a \u201cTake a Minute to Show You Care\u201d campaign.<\/em><\/p>

Laurel Latto\u2019s DonnaBellas Angels art conveys the perfect balance of caring along with supporting our DEI initiatives that we sought.  We mailed printed postcards featuring Laurel\u2019s \u201cHearts and Hands Diversity\u201d piece, inviting firm members to reach out to uplift others as well as when they themselves needed support, and included a separate stamped postcard featuring Community Hearts to help them get started, as well as small tokens of kindness and caring.  <\/em><\/p>

The project has been a resounding success.  In large part, due to Laurel\u2019s ability to convey inspiration through art and generosity, together we are making a difference.
